"Initially, I was supposed to take part in the Giro and then in the Vuelta, now I might head for the Tour and the Vuelta. It depends on whether I will keep my current shape. The Tour starts in two months so it is way too early to think about it, "Frantisek Raboň says.
Frantisek Raboň is going to be missing at the start of the Giro d´Italia in Venice. After difficult races he is going to take a rest. Then, after fourteen days off he should turn up at the start of the Tour of Catalan and then at the Dauphine Libere.

František Raboň who won the Tuesday’s prologue at the Tour of Romandie and was a part of the Friday’s victory of his team Columbia-Highroad in the team time trial did not defend his leading in the last two stages. He proved, though, that he can rival at the ProTour races on his own.

Fery once again moved to first position at the stage race Tour of Romandie. The winner of the Tuesday’s prologue won the team time trial with his team on Friday and he is leading by one second over Dane Lars Bake.

Fery finished second in the Thursday’s second stage of the Tour de Romandie which was 161.5km long with the finish in La Chaux De Fonds. The three-time world champion Oscar Freire from Spain won the stage in the bunch sprint.

Won the prologue of the prestigious race Tour of Romandie and achieved one of the greatest success of his career. The 25-year-old rider from the team Columbia-Highroad beat the French Sandy Casar by two seconds and he is going to wear the yellow jersey during the Wednesday’s stage of the 63rd edition of the ProTour race. The Spaniard Alejandro Valverde finished in third position three seconds back.

Raboň have already experienced how the yellow suits him, he is now thinking about the pink.
In the fall of the last season he won a stage of a prestigious ProTour race for the first time, however, he has achieved ever more recently.

F. Raboň made another great success at short notice and this time during the Criterium Internazionale in France. In the general classification he finished in second position when lost only two second of the overall winner who was the experienced German Jens Voight.

After the success at the Tour of Murcia F. Raboň has returned home and has decided to prepare for the next races GP Waregem in Belgium and the Criterium Internazionale in the home conditions since the weather in the Bohemia is now really similar to that in Belgium and France. Especially he would like to focus on the overall classification during the Criterium Internazionale. The final stage is a time trial and he would be delighted to prove that the victory from Murcia was not a coincidence.

Fery won the third stage which was the time trial 16km long and he beat his teammate Bert Grabsche by 19 seconds and is going to wear the yellow jersey in the following stage.
Preparation on Mallorca (3/2009)
Early in March F. Raboň with his father left for Mallorca for the preparation. They chose Mallorca because in particular this island offers favorable conditions for the training in mountains.
